The village of Hepworth was a small hamlet until the 1980’s when it began to expand with the addition of new homes and businesses. Hepworth is also notable as the most northerly point that the Great Plague reached. 13 residents died as a result of the plague, and they are remembered with trees planted in their honour. The village holds an annual Hepworth Feast to commemorate the end of the plague.
